The First Chirp

Dear Friends and Family,

We wanted to touch base with you all and thank you for your prayers for my Mom and Dad and all of us over the last week and a half. We are grateful to God for His comfort and blessings over this time. Continued prayers would be appreciated.

Mom is recovering well from surgery, looks great, and got to come home from the hospital today. Along with today came the pathology reports, and the news was not good. The tumor is an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer called Glioblastoma.

Mom and Dad met with an oncologist today and began discussing a treatment plan and more doctor visits are to follow. But for now the doctors want Mom to focus on recovering from surgery over the next few weeks before she will be starting a form of chemo and radiation.

Mom is doing okay. Her spirits are good, and her quick wit and smile still remains! She and the rest of us know that God is in control no matter what the outcome. We have a Father who knows best for our lives and our hope and trust is in Him no matter what. May His Glory shine through this!
